Application of RPA in The Securities Industry

News source: Number of Views:592人

In the face of more tense competition in the market, more and more securities dealers have been seeking to improve their internal business operations through the intelligent and digital transformation, with the aim to establish more granular management.

Usually, in the securities industry, a massive amount of data is involved, such as customer data, transaction data and market data, and so on. So, employees in a securities company have to collect and analyze a large volume of data  every day, which must be highly accurate.

And that is just a strong point of RPA robots who can handle the data in highly repetitive processes in a non-disruptive way. Featuring easy-to-deploy and low costs, they will see huge potentials in the securities dealers' digital transformation.

Scenario 1: Daily clearing

For the securities industry, data clearing everyday is essential. In the face of massive amounts of data, the staff has to carry out data clearing work from more than a dozen systems every day, and then review and verify the results, which is boring and repetitive, and may take up much time. With RPA, most of the work can be automated. What is left for human labors is just to review and approve the results, which significantly saves their time.

Scenario 2: Valuation

The valuation business requires the relevant staff to take the data clearing work against the data files, select  from a lot of products, and click the buttons to read the data from the valuation system, and transfer funds etc. which is highly repetitive. And the RPA robot can simulate every step in this process, and collect the reports for human retrieval and judgment. In this way, the data can be processed in parallel with valuation, in order to automate the valuation and accounting based on data.

Scenario 3: File Submission

In many business scenarios in the securities industry, a large number of files should be submitted to the regulatory agencies or announced to the public., including bond offerings, non-standard opinions, legal opinions, application reports for bond issuance, etc. These files may be several hundred pages long, and follow complex auditing rules. Reviewing the data manually may take up much time and is prone to errors. However, the files can be read by RPA robots only within 5 minutes, compared to 5 hours by human labors before, then sent to human workers to review and approve.
