Cyclone Robotics recognized in Gartner® Critical Capabilities for Robotic Process Automation, with highest Use-Case score for unattended automation

Gartner® Critical Capabilities for Robotic Process Automation was published on 24 August, with evaluation of 15 RPA products based on their ability to support five common Use Cases. Cyclone Robotics, after being recognized in the recent Gartner® Magic Quadrant™, scored its highest Use-Case score for unattended automation, with a score of 4.04/ 5.


Global Robotic Process Automation (RPA) software end-user spending is projected to reach $2.9 billion in 2022, an increase of 19.5% from 2021, according to the latest forecast from Gartner, Inc. in a recent press release published on Augus 1, 2022. "By achieving a growth rate of 31% in 2021, the RPA market grew well above the averate worldwide software market growth rate of 16%," said distinguished VP analyst at Gartner.

 

Through 2024, Gartner expects the market to mature and consolidate around specialist and generalist offerings.

 

Applications and software engineering leaders should seek RPA solutions that combine UI interactions and APIs to automate processes and integrate and perform data transcription work between applications. Users can adjust capability weightings to create customized use cases that align with the organization’s needs.

 

The five common Use Cases for RPA identified by Gartner as below:

  • Unattended Automation — Automating unattended processes/tasks that involve data transcription between applications where no back-end integration or API is available.

  • Attended Automation — Enhancing the productivity of knowledge workers with attended automation, complex decision making and augmented artificial intelligence and machine learning (AI/ML) capabilities.

  • Enable Fusion Teams — Enabling citizen developers and professional developers to collaborate and rapidly build automation scripts/bots, along with governance and software development life cycle (SDLC) management.

  • Automate Document Processing — Automating unstructured or semistructured data ingestion from documents to prepare for bot consumption by converting them to a standardized, structured format.

  • Automation Marketplace — Creating composable, reusable and serverless automation components that can be exposed via APIs or by other methods.
